Support Sophia

At just 12 years old, Sophia was diagnosed with Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma (FLC), a rare and aggressive form of liver cancer.  Since her diagnosis in 2022, she has faced countless challenges with strength and spirit that continue to inspire everyone who meets her.

 

Now 15, Sophia has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation, along with several surgeries and participation in advanced clinical trials. Her journey has taken her from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo to Dana-Farber in Boston, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, and now back to Buffalo where she continues to fight with courage and hope.

 

Sophia is more than a patient; she’s a light in our community.  She loves her family, friends, and pets, and she’s a passionate fan of the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Bandits.  Despite everything cancer has thrown her way, Sophia faces each day with grace, faith, and her radiant smile.  She believes she’s meant to do great things, and we believe it too.
